With sea loch views stretching down the Clyde estuary and Cowal hills, the area is idyllically peaceful yet it is less than an hour’s drive from Glasgow and even less from Glasgow Airport; the drive forming part of the old touring route to the Highlands and Islands.
Mountain views, wooded slopes, fjord-like sea lochs – the Rosneath Peninsula offers the essential west of Scotland. A garden to visit, (Linn Gardens at Cove), great walks, good accommodation choice and even a Highland Games are just a few of the options.
The ferry connection from Helensburgh and Gourock takes you directly to Kilcreggan, with its fine Victorian villas from the days when successful Glasgow city merchants built their country retreats here.
