Balloch

Balloch grew up around an early ferry and river crossing point at the south end of Loch Lomond. As tourism and leisure time developed in the 19th century, Balloch with its moorings on the River Leven attracted steamers, boat-hire, cruising and the air of a place where city people came to enjoy themselves while messing about with boats. Today, Balloch is a gateway to the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park, with the Loch Lomond Shores visitor complex, lots of great watersports, the departure point for Sweeney's Cruises and more.
