Kiltwalk: Glasgow to Loch Lomond 2017

09:00 - 20:00

The Glasgow event is the biggest Kiltwalk of the year and takes place on Sunday 30th April 2017 with three separate walks, The Mighty Stride which covers twenty three miles, The Big Stroll which is over fourteen miles in length and The Wee Wander which is three laps of Balloch Country Park comprising a total of just over 6 miles.

The Mighty Stride will start from our new start point in Glasgow Green covering 23 miles and will have staggered starting times fromm 9 am when walkers will be released in batches at intervals for road safety and pavement congestion reasons, so please adhere to your allotted arrival time for everyone’s safety.

The route follows the Clyde Walkway, joins National Cycle Route 7 (NCR7) and makes its way westwards on the banks of the Clyde, passing The Hydro and SECC with Pit Stop number 1 at the Riverside Museum.

The route continues west through Scotstoun and Yoker to Pit Stop 2 at Yoker Sports Centre. Next stop is Clydebank and Pit Stop 3 where the Big Stroll sets off at 11:00am.

From there, the walk follows the Forth and Clyde Canal towards Bowling where Pit Stop 4 is situated. The route continues on NCR7 into Dumbarton Town Centre and across the River Leven before arriving at Pit Stop 5 at Dalreoch.

We then move onto the banks of the river through Alexandria and Renton, to Vale of Leven where Pit Stop 6 can be found at Millburn Park.

The final stretch heads towards Balloch, where our end site for all three distances – The Kiltwalk Village, can be found at Moss O Balloch Park. Here you’ll find a hot meal, the bar and all the fun and entertainment the Kiltwalk Village has to offer until the site closes at 10:00pm.
