Ben Lomond Torchlight Challenge 2017
16:15 - 23:59
Experience the thrill of being on top of a mountain in the dark, and help raise funds for path repair and mountain rescue.
Join with like-minded participants to experience the magic of being on a high mountain in darkness, in the safe company of experienced Lomond Mountain Rescue Team members and the NTS ranger service.
The walk up Ben Lomond will be during sunset, and a torchlight beacon will be sent out from the summit, before descending by torch, and hopefully a bit of moonlight. This year there will be a beacon shone back at participants from Goatfell on Arran.
To participate you will need to pay a registration fee and raise a minimum sponsorship sum in aid of two good causes: Ben Lomond conservation work, including path repair and maintenance, and Lomond Mountain Rescue Team.
All funds raised by the event will be split 60:40 between these two worthwhile mountain causes.
This is an arduous walk, which will take several hours and require a good degree of fitness.
Registration packs will be available from the end of March onwards. In the meantime please email for more information and to register interest.
