Callander

The pretty, bustling holiday town of Callander, with its numerous souvenir shops and tearooms, often described as the “Gateway to the Highlands” is situated on the River Teith, near Stirling. Callander is a popular base for visitors exploring the Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park and 'Rob Roy Country', or stopping off on their way up into the Highlands. The town is also known for the location of the original Doctor Findlay’s Casebook TV series.

The Trossachs Woollen Mill at nearby Kilmahog is a popular stop-off point to see the old weaving sheds and machinery and to visit Hamish the Highland Bull, the oldest in Britain with horns over 1 metre wide!
