Love Loch Lomond to Showcase New Collaboration at VisitScotland Expo

Destination marketing organisations Love Loch Lomond and Glasgow City Marketing Bureau (GCMB) have teamed up with ScotRail for a £68,000 marketing campaign, which has been match-funded through VisitScotland’s Growth Fund.

Aimed primarily at potential visitors from Edinburgh and Aberdeen, the campaign highlights the close proximity between the urban experiences of Scotland’s largest city, Glasgow, and the beautiful scenery of Loch Lomond, The Trossachs and Clyde Sea Lochs and encourages visitors to both destinations to #packmorein to daytrips, weekend breaks and longer stays.

A key message is the fact that ScotRail operates a regular train service between Glasgow Queen Street and a number of train stations in the Loch Lomond area, including Balloch, which has a maximum journey time of 50 minutes.

The campaign has already attracted the world’s media, and will offer tourism businesses in both destinations opportunities to get involved in media campaigns, press and familiarisation trips and product partnerships to enhance the visitor experience and create links between both destinations.

As well as presenting the new, unique #packmorein collaboration to UK and international buyers at this year’s travel trade exhibition, VisitScotland Expo, in Edinburgh, Love Loch Lomond will be showcasing new products across outdoor activities, food and drink, and accommodation within the Loch Lomond, Trossachs and Clyde Sea Lochs areas.

Karen Donnelly, Project Manager of Love Loch Lomond said, “We are incredibly excited about our new collaboration with Glasgow City Marketing Bureau and Scotrail. By working together, we’re delighted to be able to offer visitors to Scotland the chance to connect easily with both Glasgow and Loch Lomond by rail, and access a diverse range of amazing urban, rural and coastal experiences.”

Love Loch Lomond is exhibiting on Stand F11 at VisitScotland Expo, the Royal Highland Centre, Edinburgh, Wednesday 20 & Thursday 21 April 2016.
